Motorcycle Insurance Rules

Where is a good place to purchase a motorcycle in Bangalore?
I am an American planning a motorcycle trip from Bangalore to Delhi. I would like to purchase a small, reliable and efficient motorcycle, for under $2500 in Bangalore. (I would then hope to sell it upon arriving in Delhi).
Can anyone recommend a good place to look for a bike?
Are there any laws, procedures, rules or such, that I need to be aware of? (Title? Registration? License? Insurance?)
Any other advice?
Thanks!!!
You need to realize India is not America. I am an American traveling and living in India for 33 years.
They will sell you a motorcycle but you will not be able to register it in your name unless you have an India driver license. The catch is you can not get an Indian license unless you have a permanent address and you must have special Id to prove that address is yours which you can not obtain. Even though they probably will sell you Insurance it will not be valid without the Drivers License.
Also there will be plenty of very low mileage motorcycle for $750 – 900 US. For long distances the Enfield Bullet (more heavy bike) is the only way to go but they will be more costly (25 – 40% more than a Yahama or Honda). Most of the motorcycles here are 50 – 100 C. C. even though there are some newer models from 125 -150 C.C.
Do not buy a new bike. Also understand the roads are worse than terrible. About 100-150 km is all you can travel in one day. Delhi is a long way from Bangalore. Also do not drive at night. Also there are no rules and regulation for driving. Animals have priority(especially cows) . If you run over one you will spend at least 10 years in Jail if you are lucky because the villagers may actually KILL you before the Police ever come. The rule of the road is the bigger vehicle has the right of way. They will simple kill you if you do not yield. A 1/4 of an inch or less stands between you and an accident. I would advise you to reconsider your motorcycle adventure especially if this is your first time to India. Either walking or riding the road/streets is the most dangerous place to be in India.
Also it Will be extremely difficult to sell the bike unless you take a 75 -80% lost. Since the registration can not be in your name it makes it even harder to sell.
Auto Insurance Accidents

Question about auto accident insurance?
I recently settled a lawsuit dealing with an automobile accident. My car insurance medical coverage exhausted at 15,000, and I still had bills to pay so my primary picked it up. But now that it is settled I think I have to pay my primary back. My lawyer said he got me full coverage from my auto insurance dealing with my injuries for the rest of my life in the settlement. My question is…. is there a way instead of me paying back my primary insurance company, by just having them forward the bills to the auto insurance since they will be paying my bills from now on? Or am I going to have to pay out of pocket. Thanks in advance!
I would need to know more about the terms of your settlement. However, if that’s not included, then you’ll have to pay for them yourself out of pocket from the proceeds of your settlement. Once the case is settled no one can go back and ask for more $. You need to follow up with your attorney.
