Auto Insurance Mandatory States

Auto Insurance Mandatory States
How often does State Farm check driving records?

Looking for anyone who has State Farm auto insurance. I just got a stupid ticked for a rolling stop at a stop sign (mandatory 3 points on the license) and was curious as to how often State Farm checks driving records, as well as how much my insurance would increase.

I actually work for State farm. They don’t usually do a records check on clients unless they make some changes to their policy or after a year or so. So it may take about a year before they even see it. They usually don’t check in the middle of a term so you won’t see the change in premium until one of your 6 month renewals.

There’s no set percentage or number that your policy will go up but if I had to say, it may go up somewhere between 40-50%. It’s a pretty big jump when you get points. My best advice for you would be to see if you can go to traffic court and pay extra to get the points taken off. Because if they stay on there you will be paying for it for 3 years from the date it pops up on your license.

Good luck man, hope that helps you out some.

Auto Insurance Billings Mt

If the mandatory auto insurance laws are causing an increase in food stamp nrs, should we repeal these laws?

A study done in Billings, MT shows 12 of 96 food stamp applicants said auto insurance was a reason for needing food stamps. http://www.foodstampstudy.com

That’s just a cheap excuse. People have no business driving a car if they don’t have a way to pay for property damage or injury they may cause to another person while driving it. Look at it this way. Say the mandatory auto insurance law is repealed and I get into a severe car crash with you that is my fault. The accident causes you multiple serious injuries that will prevent you from working for months, not to mention leaving you with no vehicle to drive and no way to replace it. Now who’s going to possibly end up on food stamps and other governmental assistance like disability? You. So repealing that law wouldn’t make anyone’s problems better, it would make things worse. The world we live in is an expensive place to live, but that’s just a fact of life everyone has to get used to. There are some things you have to shell out money for no matter how hard it is or how much you hate it. I honestly don’t believe auto insurance expense is the reason for anyone being on food stamps, but whatever your circumstances are, if you can’t afford liability insurance, you shouldn’t be driving.

Motorcycle Insurance Tx

Motorcycle Insurance Tx
Okay…so I get this call from my son. He got a no insurance ticket last month on his motorcycle.?

He has Insurance. He also missed court on the 29th. OMG What was he thinking? He lives in Austin,TX. I assume he has a warrant. What should he do now? like RIGHT NOW?

he can call the local sheriff’s department to find out if he has a warrant. If he acts like an adult, and not a smart-aleck-know-it-all-kid… he can explain the situation over the phone to a sheriff, then make arrangements to turn himself in on the warrant.

once he proves he had insurance, it should all ” go away ” as a big misunderstanding.
